Per announcements from Middle Island Gardens & the Local Foods Network, there will be No Sitka Farmers’ Markets this summer; however, the GOOD NEWS is… Sitkans will still be able to buy locally grown produce, thanks to the combined efforts of all concerned. Produce pre-ordering will eventually be available using the Salt and Soil Marketplace website HERE.
Produce pickups will be held Saturday mornings from 10am – 12noon, beginning June 20th, at St. Peter’s Fellowship Farm garden site (behind St. Peter’s Episcopal church on Lincoln St.)
We will be doing our best to keep our community safe, by wearing masks and minimizing contact and asking you to do the same. You will be required to remain in your vehicle, where your order will be brought out to you.
Stay tuned for more information on how to use the Salt & Soil Marketplace to pre-order produce in Sitka. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, or email@example.com.
Thank you for your flexibility in supporting local foods this upcoming season!
