Wednesday, March 13, from 6-8 event @ Beak Restaurant – SJ Museum needs your help!! The event is to help folks contact legislators and others making decisions in Juneau – see message below from Rosemary Carlton, SJ Board President.
I’m sure most of you have seen the article and the letter to the editor in the March, 11, Sitka Daily Sentinel and many Facebook posts about the proposed sale of the Sheldon Jackson Museum and the Stratton Library.
If you wish to help please contact the legislators – not just ours as they are behind us 100%, but others who could make a difference. Here is a link where you can send a 50 word message to one or all the legislators protesting this unthinkable proposal. www.akleg.gov/poms/message.asp If you have a Facebook account, share the article and the letter to the editor.
Also, stay tuned for “Sitka Connected” Town Hall on April 3 (time and place TBD).
If your kids have experienced programs or had the chance to use the hands-on materials, let them know. The Sheldon Jackson Museum is an EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION! Let them know you wish them to do everything in their power to save the Sheldon Jackson Museum. Give them your experiences at the Museum and if you’ve had family and friends from out of town, let them know that too. Thank you for your support in advance. We will beat this!
