Food Co-op Accepts SNAP / EBT
Supplemental Assistance Welcomed at Sitka Co-op
Sitka Food Co-op has been approved to accept and redeem the State of Alaska’s Supplemental Assistance Nutritional Assistance Program (known as “SNAP”).
Per USDA.gov, Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) is an electronic system that allows a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participant to pay for food using SNAP benefits. When a participant shops at a SNAP authorized retail store, their SNAP EBT account is debited to reimburse the store for food that was purchased.
Sitka Food Co-op says: “Don’t forget to keep spreading the word that we are now ready and happy to welcome customers using SNAP/EBT benefits! If you have any questions, please reach out to us on Facebook, email us at sitkafoodcoop@gmail.com – we would be happy to help you with anything you need!” OR call (907) 623-7134 to learn more.
