Saturday, Jan. 4 via Zoom – “Write Your Family in Your Own Voice” – Elizabeth Mayorca offers this intimate class on writing your family in your own voice for the second time! You are welcome to attend 1 or all 4 classes in this series. Writers will enjoy a dynamic 2 hours during each class exploring examples in literature, prompts, writing and conversation. Thursday, Jan. 16 or Thursday, Feb. 13 via Zoom – “Writing Intimacy & Sex” – Oregon writer Melissa Matthewson will explore writing about sex and intimacy. In what ways can we embrace the sensuality of our prose, poetry. Can we plunge into the depths of our psyches and stories by writing about topics like sex, sexuality, bodies and intimacy? We will talk about these subjects, both in literature and philosophy and write about them together. Read More and Register.
Thursday, Jan. 23 via Zoom – “Your Poetic Heart” – Come join poet John Roedel as he leads you in a two-hour workshop on his approach to writing poetry. Bring a pen, a journal and your open heart as John leads you off the beaten path and into the words waiting inside of you for you to discover them. Read More and Register.
Wednesday, Mar. 5 in-person in Sitka, Alaska – “Writing the Wild: Evolution of the Nature Essay” – 5 week class (Mar. 5-April 2) located in Sitka, Alaska. Join Sitka writer Brendan Jones on the Sitka Fine Arts Campus to chat about journaling and move your writing from early stages toward a well crafted piece of writing with broad appeal to readers.
