Join Transition Sitka’s dedicated core group on Wed. June 28 from 6:30 pm-8pm, at the See House, behind St. Peter’s on Lincoln St., for an in-person meeting and introductory presentation.
Transition Sitka is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to reducing Sitka’s reliance on fossil fuels, increasing community food security, improving the resilience of our local economy and reducing solid waste.
The agenda will include:
- 6:30-7pm – Business meeting and annual election of our board of directors
- 7-8pm – Overview of the organization’s goals and objectives, history of the “Transition Town” movement (the inspiration for our local group), and reports on our ongoing projects: electrification of building heat and land transport; and status update of a community gardens proposal submitted to the Planning Department.
