Artist-in-Residence in October
The October 2024 Artist-in-Residence at the museum is Denali Taniilux̂ McGlashan, Unangax painter (Oct. 3-Oct. 24).
October 1 marks the beginning of Winter Hours for the museum – those are Wednesday – Saturday, 10am – 4pm, Tuesdays by appointment only.
McGlashan will hold talks and classes at the museum, will discuss her cultural and creative journey and will teach watercolor painting.
- Denali McGlashan (Unangax) will offer a watercolor painting class on Friday, October 11,1:30-3:30 pm. Students are asked to bring their own rock, shell, leaf, flower, or other natural item to paint. The class is for ages 12+ and youth need to be accompanied by an adult. Note that the museum will be open on Indigenous Peoples’ Day (Monday October 14) and that entry will be free.
