“The History and Future of Yéil Koowú” is the title of a multi-media event presented in Juneau, Alaska on April 30, 2024.

The event, which highlighted and celebrated the art of Ravenstail Weaving, was broadcast live on KTOO 360TV and streamed live on KTOO.org and LilyHope.com. You can also watch the 90-minute video on You Tube.

  • LilyHope.com presents numerous opportunities for the public to learn, witness, and interact with Yéil Koowú. Hope has been mentoring and working with 20+ weavers from across the country to create the largest known collection of child size Ravenstail robes.
  • The culmination of these weavers’ work came together in Juneau on April 30 at a multi-media presentation and gathering of the robes.

These robes will be on display at the Juneau-Douglas City museum for the 2024 summer exhibition. All are invited to learn, honor, and carry the knowledge into the future.

Ed. note:  The cover image on KTOO’s video is of the late Teri Rofkar, a widely recognized Ravenstail weaver who lived in Sitka. You can watch the video of the April 30th Yéil Koowú event at ktoo.org/yeilkoowu.
