Alaska Aquaculture Semester
At UAS Sitka Campus
Study Sustainable Ocean Farming at UAS Sitka Campus – the 2024 Fall semester runs from August 26th to December 14th. Hands-on learning and research includes courses such as:
- Alaska Salmon Culture
- Intro to Mariculture
- Fish Pathology
- Aquaculture Internship & Lab
- Small Vessel Operator
- Outboard Motor Maintenance
- Cold Water Survival
Why Sitka? Sitka is a stronghold for Alaska aquaculture due to its pristine waters and protected coastline. Our program offers hands-on, practical occupational training, with Pacific salmon hatcheries, seaweed and shellfish hatcheries and farms in Sitka and the greater Southeast Alaska region.
