What we offer:  we teach karate classes for youth & families in Sitka, AK.

• Level 1 and 2 classes are for ages 7 to adult and run throughout the year.
• Little Dragons is for kids ages 4-6 and runs during the school year only.
• Private lessons are also available at selected times.

Kenwa Karate of Sitka teaches a traditional style of karate called Shito-Ryu. We aim to provide Sitkans and visitors with high-quality martial arts instruction. We have been serving youth & families continuously since 1984 when Sensei Michael Taylor founded the dojo as a program under Community Schools.

In 2002 Kenwa Karate of Sitka restructured to become a registered non-profit with the State of Alaska and we obtained federal 501(c)3 designation in 2006.

We now hold our regular classes at the New Archangel Dancers studio. Sensei Laurinda Marcello, one of Sensei Taylor’s original students, is our lead instructor.

Winter Break – We are customarily closed for our Winter Break from mid-Dec. to early January.
