Join fellow Sitkans in Transition Sitka’s Community Vision Podcast Club – kicking off Wednesday, April 3rd from 6pm to 7:30pm at the See House, behind St Peter’s Church at 611 Lincoln St.

We’ll listen to a selected podcast episode independently beforehand and meet the first Wednesday of every month to see where our discussions take us! The topic for April 3rd will be, “What if we shifted to a not-for-profit economy?”

We were inspired by “From What If? to What Next?” – a Podcast series created by British environmental activist & author Rob Hopkins, covering topics such as:

  • Climate Crisis
  • Food Security
  • Socio-Economics
  • Visions of the Near Future

Rob Hopkins (along with other residents of Totnes, England) founded the “Transition Town Movement” – with the awareness that how they lived and organized in their community would have to change in a world of “energy descent.” Diminishing supplies and increasing costs of oil, along with the unsustainable catastrophic effects of fossil fuel use, requires us to imagine and create a vastly different way of life than we currently pursue.

Here is a link to sign up for Hopkins’ podcast series for FREE:  www.patreon.com/fromwhatiftowhatnext. A free account allows access to all the conversations.

We ask “What are your visions and ideas?” You’re welcome to listen to the podcasts in any order on your own, and you don’t have to join in the community conversation, though we would love if you did!
