“I am from Ḵaachx̱ana.áak’w and the Shtax’héen Ḵwáan, also known as Wrangell. Being a distance education learner, my time at UAS has looked a little different than many. My positive interactions with the staff at UAS have been wonderful to learn from, but the staff member with the largest impact on me was my academic advisor, Shayla Sulser. Shayla has been kind and encouraging, available and resourceful. She helped me get on track and listened as I processed the stress of going to school full time, working full time, and being a parent.
